I have been living with my cousin for almost four years and this is the first time it ever happened to me, or maybe it has happened before but did not know of it because I was fast asleep. So the night before, I set my phone alarm to wake up at 5:30 am to go to gym, what I didn't know was I was going to be awaken by somebody else's - my cousin's alarm clock next door. It first came on around 5:15 and from there it just sounded off every single minute for an hour. While I was just lying there for the first half of the hour still debating if I should still go to the gym (because it was cold out) and waiting for my own alarm to sound off. All along my expressions changed from frustration (Oh gawd~ I still need my fifteen minutes!) to mental violence (picturing I was throwing the phone out) to amazement (Wow wow wow! It has been thirty minutes!) to total wonder (Is that even possible? To not wake up when you have ringing sounds in your ear - the typical Nokia phone alarm tone, for every single second??) and I ended up counting the seconds when it would sound on again everytime it came off. It came to a point where I was wondering to check my cousin in the next room thinking she was unconscious and was deciding if I should wake my cousin up instead of waiting for the alarm to wake them up because it could be something urgent for my cousin to have set a lot of alarm times (I own a Nokia phone too and use it as an alarm so I know there's a limit to the number of times you can 'snooze'). I didn't, for I decided to have a big breakfast instead and go to gym alter, and an hour or so later I heard sounds next door indicating that she finally woke up. And I am still wondering about alarm clocks and decided to blog about this.
What's your take on alarm clocks? Have you ever been in this situation before? What would have been your reaction? Do you use alarm clocks everyday? If so, how often do you press the snooze button? (Oh, admit it
, I for one, am a heavy 'snoozer'
) If you have any interesting stories about alarm clocks, feel free to share
